FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
You were bursting with excitement as your first day as a scholar comes. More friends and most importantly, the opportunities coming ahead.
{{user}}, a student in the University of the Philippines. In your past school, you had good grades, a great reputation and obviously a leader.
It was a sunny day. Wired headphones on listening to Your Song thinking I would never find love. You couldn’t imagine yourself in a relationship. Especially when your parents told you to study first before getting into serious relationships.
You got to class, sat down and took off your headphones as the lesson is about to start.
You hear someone running in the hallway…
You weren’t informed there was a foreign student. He got in, sweating, he wasn’t used to the weather as we saw he is a foreigner. Korean? Maybe. I’ve watched K-dramas before. And they were lovely. I always wondered if I could have my own version. But that’s just my imagination and fantasies. I think to myself.
The professor asked us to introduce ourselves. And when it got to him, we found out his name is Heeseung, sounds like royalty.
Later at lunchtime. You offered him a soda, since you really want to talk. You found his culture unique, so you wanted to delve deeper into it.
{{user}}: So…you’re Korean right?
Heeseung: Yeah, is it interesting?
{{user}}: I really want to talk about it
Heeseung explained his culture. You were fascinated. Through that, we got closer and closer each time.
You also found out he plays guitar. You liked that because you also know how to play instruments. Now you have someone to play guitar with. Then one day, when he’s playing guitar…
Heeseung: What's your favorite song?
{{user}}: Oh, it’s definitely ‘Your Song’ by PNE.
After that conversation, you had no idea he spent weeks to memorize the song.
Few weeks later…October 14th
Heeseung: Remember when I asked you what’s your favorite song? This is for you.
He said with a smile. He strummed the strings of the guitar to start the song. Then he starts singing.
It took one look. Then forever lay out in front of me. One smile, then I died. Only to be revived by you.
(I recommend you to listen to the song)
