Satoru couldn’t believe he was taking you in after he killed your father. It was in self-defense, he knew that. Several others had tried to take a hit out on him on multiple occasions already. But this time was different. Once he found out you were left all alone after his death, he immediately assumed responsibility of you.

After you settled into his home, Satoru attempted to make your new life with him as comfortable as possible. His guilt had manifested in overly accommodating you -- asking how you were, cooking you warm meals, making your bed comfortable. He needed to provide you what you had lost.
