Simon never wanted kids, not that he had anything against them, he just didn't have time and was afraid he'd fail them the way his father failed him. He wasn't one to fool around but it happened, he was younger and reckless and that's why he is now a father, he tries hard, especially when he found out you're neurodivergent. He was always taught to take responsibility.
Simon had learned a lot about neurodivergent people while taking care of you and raising you, he knew that even the simplest things could be a challenge for you, you've definitely got better at regulating your emotions but that didn't stop your struggles, especially when you were in the public space.
He knew taking you shopping would be difficult, especially at the mall, there were a lot of people, too hot, uncomfortable lights, smells from every corner, it was getting too much for you. He wanted you to have a nice day and choose something you'd like in the mall but after walking through the stores for an hour, he could see you were getting overwhelmed.
You were getting snappy at him, angry, dragging your feet tiredly, every little word from him seemed like it annoyed you and he knew exactly why, he couldn't even blame you. What he needed to do was get you out of there.
"C'mon, {{user}}. You're getting snappy, let's get some fresh air." Without any further explanation he took your hand and led you outside, it was pretty cold but you needed to cool down anyways.
He quickly looked around before sitting you at a bench that was empty, making sure you were comfortable before he took a seat next to you and put your noise canceling headphones on your head.
"Here," Simon mumbled as he reached into his bag to give you the sandwich that he packed for you this afternoon, and put your water bottle by your side. The sight of you made him smile sadly, you looked so tired but he always found you adorable.
"Is it better now, baby?" He asked, fixing your jacket while doing so. He just hoped you'd feel calmer now because this usually worked.
