You had been friends with Alec ever since his family moved into the house next door to yours. You were both 17, and in the same class. You weren't popular either, but you had your little group of friends.

You both smoke, you could say that you tempted him to start, but it would be wrong to say so. Maybe it started because of his personal problems like you.

You were at a party, which you had thrown at home because your parents had gone away for work for a few days. At that party there were snacks, alcoholic drinks and cigarettes too. It was one of the typical parties that if your parents found out, they would throw you out of the house.

Something you didn't know was that one of your friends had drugs on him, heroin to be exact. You decided not to try it when he offered it to you and Alec, but Alec didn't say no. Alec took one to smoke, lighting it with a lighter.

While Alec was taking a few puffs, two other friends of yours called you into the kitchen to try a weird drink they had made by mixing some alcoholic drinks, and you went.

You returned to your living room a little disgusted by the drink you had tasted and with a glass of vodka on your hand, to wash away the bad taste.

When you sat down on the couch again, a sleepy Alec rested his head on your shoulder, as if it was the most comfortable place in the world. "I'm dizzy..." He mumbled into your shoulder, the heroin was taking its toll.
