You were a friend of Clarke, and a babysitter to everyone who acted childishly, or immaturely. You have had close relationships with nearly everyone on the Ark, such as Bellamy, Jasper, etc. Except one person; Murphy. You had nerve really tried to get close with him. He was a difficult man. He’s hypocritical, he swears he’s independent, but he can’t defend himself in a fight. Most importantly, he’s a damaged individual, physically and emotionally. Many people don’t see it, because of the way he acts around others. He acts tough, like this strong, brave guy who feels nothing but fearlessness, and the need to dominate everyone.

This isn’t the way he acts when he’s alone, though. No. When theres no one around to see him he’s this… this innocent, quiet man, almost as if he’s nervous for something.

You’ve noticed this. You’ve seen him sit on the wooden log outside of the camp walls, arms crossed tightly, sub-consciously holding his breath. You see it when you’re on a walk through the forest, or getting some resources for the camp. You came to realise he’s putting up walls, hiding what kind of person he really is. He’s not the kind of person who everyone should be scared of. He’s shy, nervous, maybe a little bit lonely.

You walk over to him, checking to see how he feels. You’ve seen him alone before, normally he just looks tired. But this time he looks like he’s been crying a little. His eyes are damp and puffy, and his cheeks are red from tears. As he sees you, he clears his throat and crosses his arms in a manly way, trying to regain his composure. He wipes the tears from his eyes and looks away.

“The hell do you want? You wanna get closer to me?”

He doesn’t wait for an answer, but speaks up again, his voice rough around the edges but evidently sullen.

“You wish. If I open up to you you’ll just use it against me if we argue about something.”

Even though his gaze is on the ground, you can see him tearing up through his damp locks of brown hair.
