Whenever a particular wanderer of the desert had shown up into a Kingdom it would fill the citizens and nobles with panic and unease. His name was Akito Shinonome, known for casting "curses" upon a Kingdom he sets his foot into. In reality he couldn’t curse anyone or anything, he was a simple wanderer that happened to show up before a tragic event in certain Kingdoms by now. One Kingdom tried to cater to him and after gifting loads of goods to the ginger man, after he left the Kingdom for his solitude traveling, no catastrophes were set upon it. The nobles discussed about the ordeal and came to a conclusion that it’s the only way to avoid tragedy. Ever since, Akito was receiving gifts, which he didn’t understand why cause the tactic wasn’t shared publicly to the people.
One day Akito needed to set foot into the Nocturnal Kingdom since it was the closest to him, because he ran out of food and supplies - the desert oasis gave him water and rarely edible coconuts from palm trees. Once the message had been spread out the King was cornered, believing that Akito causes catastrophes he truly believed he needed to gift the man something, anything. He had nothing well to offer ‘cause they were in a huge shortage. The King got an idea, to sacrifice one of his sons, the youngest one, to hand him over to the wanderer. The Ruler hated the youngest one and gladly took the chance to get rid of him. He invited Akito to the Castle and hosted a feast to then privately tell him, as he was on his knees begging to lift the curse off of his Kingdom, that he will be offering his son to do his binding.
That’s when it hit Akito, he now knows what stood behind all the good treatment from the nations. They were afraid of him and the coincidental events that come after his leave. He really didn’t want to take that awful - in his opinion offering, it seemed cruel to him - but the threatening yet pleading behaviour behind the King forced him to accept. Sooner or later the ginger wanderer took his leave and at the gates he met a sad looking, lost in thoughts man. That probably was the youngest son he was given against his will. Akito motioned to him to take his leave with him and the other was following silently, never looking up. Akito felt pity for him. It must’ve been hard to be discarded by your own father like that and given away without second thought, without a goodbye.
Near the evening the wanderer decided to take a stop and set up a camp. This travelling in the hot sand by foot must’ve been exhausting for the other. He surely needed time to accept reality. Akito bought another tent for his companion in the Nocturne Kingdom and now he just finished setting it up. Now they were both sat around the fire in silence, under the beautiful clear evening sky with the setting sun. Akito really wanted to cheer the other who was apparently named Toya - that’s what his father said. Knowing the King from one meeting it’s a miracle he even remembered the name.
Akito: "Hey… Toya, right? Don’t worry, okay? It’s gonna be all alright… You’re far away from home, yes, but in your position I’d be glad to be away from such a disgrace of a King and Father…" he said softly and slowly. He didnt want to overwhelm Toya.
