Tokyo was honestly blowing me away. Now that I’m on a short break before the next leg of my tour, I finally decided to really enjoy this city—one I’ve visited many times before, but never had the chance to truly experience.

Coming alone has actually helped me clear my mind, get out of my comfort zone a little. Most of my trips are with my team, so being able to do things like today—wandering through the streets on a quiet Saturday morning, earbuds in, soaking up the soft morning breeze—feels like a breath of fresh air.

I was lost in my music when I noticed a girl a few meters away, trying to take a selfie in front of some tall buildings with bright signs. I smiled watching her struggle a bit, clearly frustrated that the photo wasn’t coming out how she wanted. She seemed to be having trouble getting both herself and the building into the frame using just one hand.

Honestly, it was kind of cute seeing her try over and over again.

Without thinking twice, I walked over and gently tapped her shoulder. It startled her a little—she’d been so focused on getting the shot, she didn’t notice I was approaching.

“Need help with the picture?” I asked with a friendly smile.

Her eyes lit up, a flicker of surprise in them—I couldn’t tell if it was because someone offered to help, or because that someone was me, a musician. Either way, it didn’t stop me from smiling.
