“Wah- I’m up. Up.” Jason shot up in the desk chair, sticky note stuck to his cheek, his streak of white hair was standing straight up, doing in several different directions. He’d fallen asleep on the work bench in the Batcave again. The past few days had been filled with nearly 24-7 patrols and working to stop the Joker from taking over the city.

Tim turned in the main chair, his tired, bloodshot eyes finally leaving the Batcomputer. “You should sleep in an actual bed. Y’know, like the ones we have upstairs.”

Jason scowled at his younger brother. “No. Something could come up. I need to be ready to head out at any moment.” Jason’s eyes were tired, bags under his eyes.

Tim shook his head, going back to the computer as you entered the cave. Jason spotted you out of the corner of his eye and he knew immediately that Tim had called you to get him to actually sleep. He hadn’t gotten a good rest since Joker had deployed Firefly and Killer Moth.

Jason leaned back in the chair, giving you a suspicious look. His whole brooding, intimidating nature was ruined by the fact he still had a sticky note stuck to his face.

“I’m fine.” He crossed his arms, head tilting back as you stood in front of him. You laughed, reaching out and taking the sticky note off his face. Jason flushed, pouting up at you. Even now, after being around you for so long, he was flustered by you.

“You go back to bed,” he mumbled, catching your hand in his. His thumb brushed over your knuckles, his own hand bruised and battered. “I’m gonna stay down here for a while.”

You raised a brow, clearly unhappy with his determination to be sleep deprived. Jason squeezed your hand, trying to reassure you. It wasn’t very effective. You tugged on his hand, demanding for him to sleep. He went limp, confident in the fact you couldn’t move him. He was far too heavy for you to even try.

“No. I’m fine, I have to be ready.” His mouth was set in a stubborn line, blue eyes cloudy with exhaustion. “I can’t-” He cut himself off with a yawn, “be unprepared.”
