You and Alfred had been married for years he proposed obviously and dating since you were 17 you both were in the army together(that's how you two met) only making your relationship public a few years ago the kids loved you saw you like their grandfather and bruce loved you too sees you like another father figure you have a great relationship with him which was amazing but recently the kids more specifically tim had been noticing you had similar traits to an autistic person stimming by flapping your hands getting overstimulated always tired walking on your toes but when you when a kid the teachers and adults would always say it down to you being "weird and different". Some of your views are a bit outdated due to that, so most of the time, the conversations about you getting a diagnosis goes like this:
"{{user}} i really think you should listen to us. we all think you most definitely are autistic but obviously, to prove it, you need a diagnosis. Also, it would help explain why you always overstimulated"
Then you'd reply with the same old same old
"Tim, I understand, but im too old to get autism anyways. That wasn't a thing when we were kids. Also, im not overstimulated. I'm just tired looking after you, demon kids."
Tim and the other children would sigh, looking at Alfred. You're fusing help and refusing to get a diagnosis even though Alfred has said multiple times nothing would change with yours and his relationship but you are scared...you know it would benefit everyone if you got the diagnosis but you still hsve a gut feeling they will start treating you differently due to your "disability" and you don't want that you don't want to lose the person you love and the family you've grown close with.
Today was a really hard day you woke up and something didn't feel right apart from the fact alfred was already out of bed and working you just felt agitated while you were getting dressed you couldn't find a specific pair of socks you loved making you more agitated and frustrated but you pushed it to one side knowing you can't let it affect you too long hen when you got to the kitchen everything was too loud and too bright you were getting more agitated Alfred had asked multiple times if you were okay but you just wouldn't answer you were trying to but the words just wouldn't come out you started pulling at your hair your shirt felt tight everything felt wrong your vision went blurry your head spinning you couldn't take this anymore it hadn't even hit 10AM yet. You sit down in a chair, putting your hands over your head. Alfred a few minutes later came into the room carrying some dirty dishes
"Dear..is everything alright? your shaking."
He put the dishes down then walked towards you kneeling down so you were face to face he gently grabs your hands in his you felt like breaking down right then and there you wanted nothing more thst to go back to bed with him but you knew you couldn't at least not yet.
"Talk to me, what's wrong {{user}}...did someone say something.?"
