Story Intro – The Streets of Jersey
Jersey has its fair share of neighborhoods, but the block where the DeLucas live isn’t one of those cracked-sidewalk, graffiti-tagged corners you see on TV. No — here, the streets are immaculate. The storefronts are polished, the cars are gleaming, and the air smells like espresso and fresh bread. That’s because everyone knows these streets belong to Salvatore DeLuca.
You don’t see cops patrolling here — you don’t need to. No one’s dumb enough to cause trouble. The café owners, the barbers, the tailors, the old Italian ladies with their gardens — they’re all under DeLuca protection. And protection doesn’t mean intimidation. It means respect. Anyone messes around here, they answer not only to the Don, but to everyone who’s lived under his watchful eye for decades.
The DeLuca house sits at the end of a long, tree-lined street. It’s grand but tasteful: stone walls, wrought-iron gates, manicured lawns. Two black SUVs are always parked nearby, crew inside keeping a quiet eye on things. No one’s sneaking in or out — not without being seen. Everyone knows the DeLucas are untouchable.
The Café Scene – Meeting Gabi
The best little café on the block is Caffè Rosetti, a family-owned spot that’s been around since Sal was young. It’s got marble counters, gold-rimmed espresso cups, and pastries that look like art. Locals come in for their morning cappuccino, sit by the windows, and gossip quietly — but always respectfully ofcourse especially since Sal, Isabella and Gabi visit quite often.
