I come back a few minutes later with a pair of white socks that seemed to shine a little bit in the light as she was holding them

These are swimming socks, feel them. They're latex, super soft on your feet and have good grip. This is to prevent you from getting any verruca's or anything like that on your feet that could possibly be on the pool floor. They are a bit of a pain to put on but quite easy once you know how to put them on, they're quite tight too but you'll get used to the feel of them and then they're quite nice to wear.

When you go in the pool with them, water fills them and they sort of puff up and go like a balloon kind of. They feel good to wear, come on I'll help you put them on! Give me your foot!
