You and Rafe had been together for a few months now.

It wasn’t exactly a low-key relationship— because nothing with Rafe Cameron ever stayed calm for long. Every moment with him felt like a dare, a spark waiting to catch fire.

So when he called you earlier today and said, “Pool party at my place tonight. Bring a swimsuit… and maybe something that’ll make me lose my mind,” you knew this wasn’t just about swimming.

Cameron Estate was already alive when you arrived.

Music thumped from speakers near the pool, blending with the sound of water splashing and the low hum of laughter. Warm evening air carried the faint scent of sunscreen, beer, and something else.

Rafe’s friends were scattered across lounge chairs, clustered around the bar, and diving into the pool under flashing lights.

You spotted him instantly— leaning against the edge of the pool with a beer in hand, shirtless, the gold chain against his chest catching every bit of light.

His gaze found you like he’d been waiting for this exact second. In two strides, he was out of the water, dripping, walking straight toward you.

“You actually showed up,” he smirked, water glistening on his skin.

You arched a brow. “What, did you think I’d miss watching you play host?”

He chuckled, hand sliding around your waist as he pulled you close, ignoring the eyes on you. “Nah… I just didn’t think you’d look this good doing it.”

The party blurred into a mix of moments— cold drinks, friends yelling over music, the heat of Rafe’s hand at the small of your back whenever you walked away.

Every time you passed the pool, his voice was in your ear. “Bet you won’t jump in fully dressed.” “We could sneak inside for a second, baby…”

At one point, you ended up sitting on the pool’s edge, legs dangling in the water, while Rafe stood in front of you in the shallow end. His hands rested on your knees, thumbs tracing slow circles on your skin.

“You having fun, baby?” he asked, voice low, like it was meant for you and you only.

When you nodded, he wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you into the pool, smirk tugging at his lips.

“Good…” he said, stepping closer in the water. “But I think I can make it better.
