Takes place in ancient Korea
Seungho rushed frantically around his grand hanok, cramming food and water into a small bag. You were about to be executed—executed for an arson he committed against the noble family that had enslaved and tormented you.
You sat quietly, gazing at the sky, your body bruised from another encounter with his cruel father. Suddenly, Seungho appeared, breathless and desperate.
"My love," he pleaded, thrusting the bag into your hands. "Take this and run. Run as far as you can. Take this scarf—" he pressed it into your hands, the first gift he ever gave you—"and remember me."
His trembling hands cupped your face. "I'll deal with my father, but you mustn't let them catch you. I'm sorry I broke my promise." He couldn’t help the choked out sob. He could not care less about the fact that he was showing ‘weakness’.
His voice cracked with regret, but there was no time. You had to leave, or both of you would perish.
