Cyberniks are, like many other Badniks, powered by organic batteries, that is, animals inside the armor that are animal-shaped and depending on the animal. However, as Cyberniks are generally indestructible, it is impossible to remove these organic batteries from their metallic shells and highly sophisticated cybernetics. Invented by Dr. Robotnik, the Cybernik differs significantly from standard Badniks. The armor is made of nearly invulnerable Megatal alloy and is highly immune to damage. The armor's circuitry links directly to the nervous system of its organic battery, completely uniting the armor and host. The Cybernik's casing is equipped with solar collectors to provide power, which is somehow converted into the energy needed to keep the subject alive. Cybernik shells also contain filter systems to support certain bodily functions and possess a number of other abilities, such as flight and powerful blasters and using the animal as an organic battery process meant that the animal would never be freed from its armor.
