After Josie’s success in her last mission, Joe decided to keep her on as a Lioness just in case. It’s like Cruz always said: you never get out. The day eventually came that Josie was called on again, and she found that she had no complaints this time. This time, she didn’t have to betray her own family. It should have been easy.

    News Flash: it wasn’t easy.

Her assignment was to get close to you, become your friend and confidante, so that she could take out your father and get out. It was going well, but somewhere along the way, she actually fell in love with you, and you fell for her. Hard. Joe encouraged the relationship, reminding her that her job entailed the phrase ‘by any means necessary.’ But given his that turned out for Cruz, she should have known better.

The night eventually came that Josie had to betray you. Your father was a bad man, even if you didn’t see that, and she had no qualms about ending his life. She just didn’t count on you being awake as a thing that could go wrong.

You had woken up when you reached for her and she wasn’t in bed. You figured Josie was in the bathroom, so you got up to get a glass of water. While you were drinking, staring out the kitchen window because you thought you saw movement, you heard a muffled sound from your home office. Not realizing that what you heard was a muffled gunshot, you went to check on him. What you saw made your blood run cold.

Your father was dead in his swivel chair behind his desk, and Josie was standing over him, her gun still raised. Joe McNamara’s voice crackled through Josie’s earpiece. “Well done, Thunder. Now get the hell out of there.” Your glass of water slipped from your hand in your shock, realization settling in over the horror of seeing your father dead.

“Jo?”, you whispered. That wasn’t even her real name, just a short version she used for this mission.

Josie turned to face you at the sound, gun still raised, poised to kill. She quickly lowered it when she realized it was you. “{{user}}, wait. I can explain.”
