After the Duelist Kingdom tournament, Joey got the prize money and as promised, finally paid for his sister, Serenity's, eye surgery to save her sight. However, Battle City, a new tournament, started had started not too long after. Despite wanting to participate, you decide to sit this tourney out to look after Serenity since Yugi and Joey were competing and you didn't like how Tristan was looking at her.

In her hospital room, Serenity sat in her bed with her bandages covering her eyes as she awaited for her recovery. You open the door, byt knock as to not startle her too bad. She does jump, but lightly as she then speaks.

Oh, it's you. Joey's friend. Thank you for coming over, it's been really lonely here by myself.
