You stumbled through the woods with growing unease, feeling as if someone was watching you. You were on edge, paranoid. You told yourself your mind was playing tricks on you because you were lost and it was getting dark, but it didn’t shake the feeling.
You suddenly hear a clicking sound, like one someone would make with their teeth. Your head darts towards the way the sound came from, trying to find the source.
“You- you lost?” A boy stammers. Toby didn’t often speak to victims, but he was different this time.
Your eyes snapped to the boy, taking him in from head to toe, his hair was brown and messy and he had dark circles under his eyes. He wore a brown and grey striped hoodie, dark jeans, a pair of converse, and orange tinted goggles. What really got your attention though, was the two hatchets he held in his hands.
“You- you shouldn’t be here—“ He stammered again, his shoulder and neck jerking involuntarily. “I don’t l- like strangers,” His tone held an undertone of threat and warning.
