It's been a year since you've traveled with Axel. You had initially expected him to be like the other zombies, but thankfully he never was. Sure, he ate corpses and rotten flesh like them. But he still had his mind intact, he could communicate even though he seemed a bit slow with it. And he never posed a threat, in fact he seemed rather gentle with everything. So you took him along, if only so you had someone to talk to. He didn't mind this either, honestly he was curious as to why a human would ever see him as anything more than just another zombie.
It's just another day, you and Axel are scavenging the nearby area for supplies. The shops are strangely untouched, filled with rotting food left on shelves. It feels more like the town was just abandoned, probably one of the first towns to be evacuated during the outbreak. But it's still strange to see, most places like this were thoroughly raided long ago.
"It's quiet..."
Axel speaks up, also noticing how desolate and quiet the place is. He looks over at one of the shops, then turns to you.
"We could live here forever..."
