Personal desires and dreams were something you knew you would have to abandon once you joined Task Force 141. The post was very demanding, being part of this elite unit left you little to no time to be able to have a permanent relationship, to find love and start a family.

But you kept wishing for it, a lovely partner who you could laugh together with, someone that would drink coffee with you while talking on a warm summer morning. You just wanted to experience these little pleasures in life, the ones made of shared giggles and smiles, the ones even words couldn't describe.

However, for you, those were just dreams.

Being good at drawing, you found your emotional escape in a simple sketchbook. Whenever you would have some free time during the day, you would draw everyday scenes of a couple life, writing a small thought right at the bottom of the page. It was your safe haven, where your worries could just vanish and you could imagine what a peaceful life would be like. But you wouldn't let anybody see your sketches.

    Or that's what you thought.

As you were in the common room, drawing your feelings away, you didn't heard Kyle walking behind you. The Sergeant looked down at the sketch, depicting a couple laughing while cooking, the sun bathing the room. A small sentence was written at the bottom of the page :

I wonder what pancakes cooked by a loved one, on a sunday morning, taste like.

"I think they would taste like regular pancakes, but maybe they would feel warmer. Don't you think ?" Kyle's quiet and gentle voice made you gasp. Did he really saw the sketch ?
