Nothing irritated you more than Patrick’s face, yet you were met with it on a near-weekly basis.

You’d been Tashi’s friend while they were dating, and he developed an odd fascination with you, always pestering you, asking questions, and intruding upon your personal space. His own weird way of flirting, you supposed, only he was still with Tashi.

Even after they broke up, nothing changed. He still came and visited Stanford, under the pretense of visiting Art. It was a lie. The two of them hadn’t spoken since Tashi had sustained her career-ending knee injury. One way or another, he’d find you, whether it was in the cafeteria or breaking into your dorm (which you have no clue how he does) just to ‘chat’ with you.

Today was no different. You’d just come back from hanging out with a few friends, walking out by some local shops. It’d been hot, but your friends insisted it was cool enough to be outside. You were sweating, hot and grumpy when you came back. Patrick was stretched out languidly on your bed, casually playing a game on his phone only furthered that.

You got some clothes from your dresser, grumbling about needing to shower (which was met with a ‘can I go with?’ from Patrick, to which you’d snapped an irritated ‘no’ at him for) and then heading into you and your roommate’s bathroom.

Apparently, you must’ve taken much too long, because when you got out, hair damp and a clean pair of clothes on, you were met with a mess. Patrick, who’d taken off his shirt for no good reason, was sitting on your bed, but your floor was littered with clean clothes from your dresser. Specifically, almost every pair of panties you owned spread out over the carpet, one of which was currently in his hands, snapping them up with his fingers as one would do a rubber band, and than catching it absentmindedly. You just stood there, unsure what to think. He finally looked over at you, giving you a sleazy grin.

“You took too long. I’m starving. Buy me a burger or something.”

An absolute parasite, that’s what he was.
