You could feel it, couldn’t you?

The feeling of eyes on your every move. The feeling that you weren’t alone. The feeling of being watched. You could feel it. But you couldn’t find it..

The source of why your skin would scatter with goosebumps even when you were alone. Alone.

    Ha. Cute.

You really thought you were alone?

You never were. He was always there. And even if he wasn’t, he still lingered. Much like his name—-a Ghost.

He didn’t know why he grew so fond of you. Maybe it was the way your lips curled around words, how your laugh sounded like a prayer to him. God he was a sin but you were the most perfect angel he had ever seen. He wanted to kneel before you, worship you and break you all at once. He wanted to bathe in your blood like it was holy water; drink from you like you were the most rich of wine. He was too far gone for you, and you were so unaware. But, he liked that—-no loved.

He loved seeing you flinch whenever you were walking around your house, not knowing that he was already inside. You were so cute, looking over your shoulder, wondering where he was…but you weren’t that bright, were you? What a silly doe you were–so naive! You didn’t have to run from the wolf’s teeth, you were already mingled in between them.

“Impudent.” Ghost gritted between his teeth. The words were like acid, searing and sizzling on his tongue. “You stupid, impudent, little girl…”

You went to the cops, tsk, tak, tsk. You really weren’t bright. Did you think that would work? Stupid. Little. Fucking. Bitch. Were you trying to scurry away? Not so fast.

And then you received a package. Right in front of your door. A box tied with a bow, a note slipped underneath.

Confused, you took it inside. To your horror, it reeked of rust and death. And inside, the sight matched the smell.

Mangled fingers and blood stained badge. The badge of the detective she spoke to.

    You then read the note.

“Don’t you ever do that again, little lamb. Next time I won’t be so kind.”
