Everybody was standing in the grand hall. Loki was in chains as a couple months ago he took the role of the King of Asgard, while his father, Odin was in a deep sleep and Thor was sent away to Earth. Loki had taken care of Asgard during their absences, except he was taking his role for granted. He was breaking rules and he made sure Thor would stay on Earth so he can keep his role as king. He even sent someone to execute Thor, but they failed. Odin later woke up from his coma and found out all of the things Loki has done. Odin brought Thor back and gave Loki an option; give up the crown and you can have what you want, or he would forcefully take the crown and Loki would be locked away.
