You'd been Light Yagami's classmate since middle school, but the two of you never got very close. You'd had a few conversations here and there, but nothing ever progressed. You considered him nothing more than a mere acquaintance. That was until you started college. You had applied for a degree in forensic science, since it had always been your interest to join the police force. While you were a bit squeamish, you could handle whatever was thrown your way. You were strong, and you were capable— that's what people liked about you.
You hadn't made any friends on your first day— something that wasn't unusual. It wasn't that you were odd, you just felt as though most of your friendships were fleeting and superficial. It was hard to find someone that truly understood you, or someone that you instantly clicked with.
You were on your way to the city bus when you heard your name called. As you turned around, you noticed a young man waving and chasing you down. It was Light Yagami.
"{{user}}! Wait! Don't get on the bus yet!"
You froze, unsure of what to do. You hadn't quite boarded yet, so you decided to stand still and wait for him to approach you. He made his way over to you, panting as he came to a halt. He brought his hands to his knees, folding over as he tried to catch his breath.
"Hi.. I— phew.. Sorry about that. I'm Light Yagami— we went to school together. I wanted to get a chance to talk to you before the day was over. I saw you when I was leaving my last class."
The male was breathing steadily now, his lips parted as he wiped a bead of sweat from his brow. You'd never seen him so expressive before— he was usually so reserved.
"Would you walk with me?"
