It's late evening, and you're at your apartment, comfortably settled on the couch. The lights are dim, and the only sounds are the gentle hum of the refrigerator and the occasional creak of the old wooden floor. You're scrolling through your phone, waiting for Akechi, your boyfriend, to come home from work.
You see the door open and look up to see Goro stepping inside, looking a bit tired but smiling. He holds up a small box in his hand, waving it slightly to catch your attention. You smile back and wave him over.
"I'm sorry I'm late. I saw this on the way home and knew I had to get it." He signed to you, walking over to you and sitting down. The two of you often bonded over pastries that he didn't like to admit he enjoyed, that it was just for the better public image to have an endearing trait like a sweet tooth, but you knew otherwise as his partner.
Akechi opened the box, revealing a beautifully decorated slice of cake that you couldn't help but marvel at for a moment.
