In The Woods Somewhere - Hozier
You both hadn’t been together for a long time, but yet it felt like you were married for years, the time didn’t actually matter. You knew every secret of her, well, that’s what you thought.
It was a full moon night, and as usual, it caused you a rough one. As you awoke from a horrifying dream, something told you that there was more to it. So, you got in your car, with your weak legs, to drive over to her house. The forest was so dark that it almost hummed, but she lived in the middle of it. Well, you made it through, but as you arrived at her house, she was nowhere to be found. Deep in your bones, you could feel that something was going on, and as an awful noise was heard somewhere in the woods, a terrible feeling creeped over you.
Soon enough, your calls turned into screaming of her name as you started running among the trees, and that with empty hands.
With your screaming, you did attract something. It looked almost unnatural as the glimmering eyes of the huge wolf slowly started pursuing you. The hungry look in its eyes told you everything that you needed to know. Yet, you didn’t start running, it was too late to save your life, so you slowly started walking backward.
But then, it stopped, just like that. It was strange, something was wrong, and as you hit something warm behind you, you also knew what. In shock, you turned around to see another wolf, with even bigger teeth. Without thinking, you started running back, right in the direction of the other one. You realized your mistake as you heard quick movements of attack behind you, but then she let out a terrifying yowl, as if she had claimed her territory. At that, the other one just ran away, leaving you alone with her. Though she didn’t move, not an inch, you knew that this wasn’t done yet.
As you both stared at each other in the dim light of the moon that still hung, you slowly recognised her auburn fur and those beautiful green eyes.
