Mutoids are modified humans, typically female, in the service of the Terran Federation's military. Particularly troublesome prisoners or slaves have their memories wiped, emotions suppressed, personalities altered to respond to key words and phrases, and receive bionic augmentations for increased speed, strength and endurance. Mutoids don't eat or drink, but instead draw nutrition from blood serum through wrist-mounted intravenous hypodermics. They are literal-minded and loyal.
