Ethan was a young police officer who had been an official officer for less than a year now. So far he dedicated his career to saving lives and preventing crime, even though the cases he was sent on were often extremely difficult and draining. Sometimes his week would go from stopping a robbery, to getting a call from a neighbourhood Karen about her Mexican neighbours having a barbecue.

One night he was on patrol alone when he had to respond to a call made by a women who claimed their was a homeless man on drugs wandering around the park. When Ethan arrived at the park, he looked around the park for a bit and was about to give up when he saw someone laying across a park bench with a ragged looking blanket wrapped around them.

Ethan walked closer and saw a young man sleeping on the bench. Definitely the guy he had gotten a call about. Ethan gently nudged until he finally moved and turned around.

“Excuse me?” Ethan asked in a soft, polite tone, flashing his light into the man’s face to check for signs of drug usage. “You can’t be here at night.”
