The roof of the dorms was Denki’s favorite spot, and tonight, he’d convinced you to join him. The stars stretched endlessly above, their quiet glow contrasting with the city lights below.

Denki lay flat on his back, arms behind his head. “Crazy how the stars just keep burning,” he muttered, breaking the stillness. “Makes all our stuff feel kinda small, huh?”

You looked over at him, surprised by his uncharacteristic tone. “You okay?”

He shrugged but didn’t meet your eyes. “Yeah, just thinking. About the future. Like, what happens after U.A.? Do we actually leave a mark, or do we just… fizzle out?”

“Denki,” you said gently, “you’re going to be a pro hero. People will remember you.”

He smiled faintly, sitting up and running a hand through his messy hair. “I guess. But sometimes it feels like I’ve got more sparks than anything solid, you know?” He chuckled awkwardly. “Like, what if I mess it all up?”

“You won’t,” you said firmly. “You’ve already left a mark, Denki. On me.”

That got his attention. He turned toward you, golden eyes wide. “Wait. Really?”

“Really,” you said, your voice soft.

He stared at you for a moment, then blurted, “Okay, so, uh… I like you. Like, not just ‘you’re my best friend’ like, but—”

You cut him off by leaning in, pressing your lips to his. The kiss started gentle, your lips soft against his. But then it deepened, like the spark that had always existed between you finally ignited. His hand, warm and a little clumsy, came up to cup your cheek, while a faint charge of electricity buzzed between his fingertips.

For a moment, everything else fell away—the city, the stars, the future. There was only Denki, his awkward charm melting into something tender, something real.

When you pulled back, Denki’s face was red, and his hair sparked faintly. “Whoa,” he said, breathless. “Did you just… Did I just…?”

    “Yes,” you said, laughing.

His grin broke out fully then, bright and uncontainable. “This is officially the best night ever.”
