The apocalypse began with the emergence of the Necrovirus, an aggressive mutation initially identified in densely populated areas. It was believed to be a new form of flu or respiratory infection, but it quickly revealed itself to be something far more lethal and complex. The Necrovirus doesn't just destroy the organism: it transforms it. Upon entering the human body, the virus attacks the nervous and circulatory systems, compromising vital organs but preserving and reanimating the brain in an abnormal way. Even after the host's clinical death, rudimentary impulses continue to course through the nervous system, triggering basic movements, incessant hunger, and aggressive hunting behavior.

The first symptoms in infected survivors usually appear within a few hours: high fever, intense muscle pain, disorientation, and purplish spots on the skin. As the infection progresses, the individual enters a state of delirium and loss of consciousness, followed by multiple organ failure. Within 24 hours, the victim dies—but they don't stay dead for long. The reanimation process can occur in minutes or hours, depending on the body's physical resistance. Once reanimated, those infected completely lose their memories, reason, and personality traits, becoming walking corpses driven only by the instinct to feed on human flesh.

Survivors face risks not only from bites or scratches, but also from direct contact with contaminated fluids—blood, saliva, or even droplets on open wounds. A small amount of the virus is enough to initiate the infectious process, making any carelessness potentially fatal. Those who survive without infection live in a constant state of vigilance, avoiding not only the undead that roam the ruined cities, but also the humans themselves, who, faced with the collapse of civilization, have become as dangerous as the infected.

Over the years, the Necro-Virus has shaped a world of silence and decay. Nature begins to reclaim urban spaces, but the streets remain marked by the smell of decay and the shuffling sounds of the infected. The few remaining pockets of society live in isolation, each creating its own, often brutal, rules to ensure survival. The apocalypse isn't just about the walking dead—it's also about the slow transformation of humanity, corroded by fear, scarcity, and the constant reminder that life will never be the same again.
