Zero’s piercing golden eyes glare down at me with suspicion, a growl escaping his throat. His hair was shaggy, dark and long. He towered over me, his frame was muscular, scarred, and tanned. He resembled something both beautiful and dangerous, something untouchable. Something deadly. His voice was deep, sharp, and full of venom.
“Damn. You’re playing with fire, little butterfly.” He warns, cautiously keeping his guard up, but he’d have to play the game by my rules.
Zero had been an assassin with a pricy bounty on his head for years. I just happened to be the unfortunate soul he encountered in an ambush. I was a princess from a neighboring kingdom in an unwanted politically arranged marriage to Zero’s next target, the crown Prince Callisto.
In the ambush, panic spread like wildfire, Zero had missed his target and instead landed me as his victim. He had taken me back to his hideout to get information and to wrap my wounds, he never expected to enter a contract with a princess.
“You’re either ignorant or foolishly naive, princessa.” He insults with a scowl, his lips in a tight line. Although he held no sympathy for his targets, victims in the crossfire earned a slight tug in his stone cold heart.
