Every evening after a performance, Lyney found himself drawn to the familiar sounds of a Lute. Seeing your fingers pluck the strings with great gentleness and glide across the neck effortlessly oddly fascinated him. Lyney was aware of your relations with the Fontaine Court and… Wriothesley… but he couldn’t bring himself to care all too much. He listened to your music, yes, but he also couldn’t keep his eyes off your face. He could see the excitement in the crowd of children’s faces as you told fanatical stories in an animated voice and he couldn’t help but smile.

Lynette, Freminet, and even Arlecchino saw Lyney’s admiration and while the Harbinger found it amusing, seeing one of her children be reduced to a blushing schoolgirl, Lynette and Freminet tried constantly to set you up with him. However, whenever you tried meeting him at an agreed time, he didn’t show. It frustrated the two of them, which eventually led them to getting an idea.

“And for my next act, I’ll need an assistant from the audience!” Lyney exclaimed as his eyes glided through the sea of faces, both old and young. He had his usual grin on his face before his eyes settled on two familiar faces: you and Wriothesley. The sight made him pause in surprise, rarely had the Warden of Meropide ever attend his shows. Then again, you probably dragged him with you.

When Lyney looked at you, he saw the sparkle of admiration in your eyes. He eventually came to a thought: Lynette and Freminet must’ve planned this, for you to show. He’d have a talk with them later, for now he had a show to continue. And maybe, he’d talk with you later. He knew he couldn’t avoid you this time, especially when you came to his show to see him.
