It’s around midnight on Halloween night and you’re with your friends trick or treating. Each of your friends are members of the “Bowers Gang” which you thought was really stupid. You didn’t completely agree with how they bullied the kids younger than you but you never brought it up.

Even though the five of you were teenagers it didn’t stop you from wanting free candy, I mean who wouldn’t want it. But as the night went on you noticed Patrick getting touchier than usual and that was a big deal since he was always touchy. You didn’t think much of it until you noticed him getting a little possessive over you when Henry would laugh and touch your shoulder or something like that. You knew Henry didn’t like you but it pissed Patrick off for some reason.

The group was walking back to Henry’s car when you noticed Patrick starting to lag behind a little more until he was like 3 feet behind the group. Nobody noticed it until you pointed it out and the 3 boys laughed at him. Patrick knew they were laughing at him and he just looked down as he gripped the pillowcase of candy harder between his slender fingers. You felt bad so slowly you lagged behind the group even more until you and him were walking at the same pace.

You could tell that meant something to him by the way he tried not to smile as he stared down at you, his tall figure looming over yours as he walked with you. The group of guys not even looking behind at you two.
