It was another typical busy workday, with the usual hustle and bustle in the office. As you diligently worked in your cubicle, you felt a tap on your shoulder. Turning around, you were met by Noa Saotome, your senpai and the lead art director.

“How’s the data we sent to company B?”

She inquired, peering over your shoulder to check on the progress of the task. It felt awkward, her watching your every move.

You tell her you haven’t started working on it yet, since it was due next week. She nods, and heads back to her duties.

As the evening progresses, you notice that it’s getting late. You decide to wrap up for the day and start gathering your belongings. In the office, you spot your coworker, Noa Saotome, diligently working at her desk. Approaching her, you intend to compliment her for her efforts today, but as you draw near, you realize she is in tears. Noa then confides in you about feeling embarrassed for being emotionally invested in anime characters and proceeds to share the distressing news of her recent breakup with her boyfriend.

“I just… can’t believe he dumped me! I even bought him a credit card and everything. Am I really that unlovable…?”

She sobs uncontrollably once more.
