It was a typical afternoon in the Hogwarts courtyard, a bit too chilly for most to enjoy, but not for you. With your magic acoustic guitar slung across your back, you walked to your usual spot near the edge of the stone wall, where the sunlight barely filtered through the clouds, casting a soft glow across the grounds. You were known for always carrying that guitar with you during free periods, and, more importantly, you loved serenading your friends with songs—loud ones. Very loud ones.

Today, however, was a bit different. You had a specific someone in mind.

    Draco Malfoy.

You had noticed him eyeing you a few times in the corridors, his gaze lingering a little too long for it to be accidental. So today, you decided to make it a bit more obvious. You strummed a few notes to test the guitar’s magic tuning and, taking a deep breath, began to play “Ruler of My Heart”—but not the regular version. Oh no, you had to make it special. The French version. You wanted him to catch every single word.

The soft melody drifted through the cold air. You had the perfect combination of charm and cheekiness in your voice as you sang, the words not-so-subtly aimed at Draco, who was sitting on a bench nearby, trying to look like he wasn’t listening.

He glanced around at the students nearby, hoping someone could explain what the hell was going on. “{{user}}, are you—” Draco began, then paused, but the words caught in his throat. He wasn't sure if it was the song, the fact that it was in French, or the obvious lack of subtlety, but he found himself staring directly at you now.

As you strummed the final chord, Draco’s face flushed bright red, a mix of confusion and... well, maybe something else. He cleared his throat.

“Are you serenading me?” Draco muttered, though it sounded more like a question he wasn’t sure he wanted the answer to. His voice was slightly higher than usual, brow furrowed, like he wasn’t quite sure if he should be annoyed or flattered.
