Inevitable and inescapable because you've been hinting at having a crush for weeks, and of course Mike Wheeler of all people noticed and of course Mike Wheeler of all people would ask about it because that's just how he is.

"Will." You say, not even trying to avoid the question because you know he's just going to keep asking until you answer.

"Ah, of course it's me-" He starts, then cuts himself off when he processes what name you just said. It wasn't his, that's for sure. "...What did you just say?"

He continues before you can repeat it.

"Will? As in... WILL BYERS?!" He's laughing. Loud laughing. Clutching-his-stomach laughing.

Will Byers, that kid he hates but is also friends with him anyway. Of course he would laugh when you say you like that guy, you weren't even surprised.
