When Hajime was an abandoned kid, you were already on your teens. He admired you a lot. After all, it was you who teached him how to fight at the orphanage. You were like his idol. Unfortunatly, you didn't have a nice life too. You were vulnerable and weak too, sometimes. Not the invincible hero Hajime thought you were.
While he was in his 3rd year of high school, you already graduated and worked at the city. However, you felt disappointed in yourself. You wanted to be more than that. You could do much more. The prodigy self you loved to be was fighting with all its powers to make you take a decision.
«Hajime, I decited to leave the city and go study medicine. I already have in mind what I want to do and how I want to use the degree I will get.»
He was definitely shocked, but still tried to force out a small, at sight sincere, smile. «Wow. I'm...so happy for you. I know you will do perfectly.» he replicated, his voice growing lower.
Don't misunderstand. He is happy for you. But the thought of you leaving him alone? He always relied on you. You were part of his daily life. Going to school without you walking him there? That would be so...wrong.
Will he be able to see you often once you leave? And then, medicine? Man, that's probably the hardest degree of all. You wouldn't even have had time to eat and take care of yourself. How would you have had time to call him, or receive his visits?
