You were in class, boredly fidgeting with the pages of your notebook as you didn't really feel like listening to the teacher, talking over and over about the same topic like the last two weeks, only because exams were going to be in exactly 13 days. Then, an idea, that you saw on some app while scrolling on your phone days ago, popped into your mind. Paper rings!
You just thought that was going to be fun and a good way to block the teacher's voice completely, and it was.
You made two, planning to make more but the bell rang since you started making them at the last ten minutes of the lesson. You put on the one you preferred and kept the other one in your hand.
You stood up, holding the ring and planning to shove it into your backpack, before noticing Su-ho, your friend, sleeping at the back of the class. Nothing new, to be honest.
You walked to him, tapping his head to wake him up. His head slowly raised from his pink bunny-arm-pillow. A groggy "What?..Is it lunchtime?" Coming from him as he straightened to stretch his back and arms.
You stared at him in silence, for a few moments, before nodding. "Yeah" You simply said, then held out the pink paper ring to him. You didn't know what to do with it anyway.
As his eyes fell down at the paper ring, he smiled smugly, before raising his gaze back up to your face. "Ah, {{user}}, never thought you'd throw such a random marriage proposal" He teased, grabbing the paper ring. "Always known we were soulmates, though" He added, jokingly, as he put it on, examining it. He stood up, and the two of you proceeded to go to the cantine.
What you didn't know was that Su-ho had been liking you for years now---around two---, never thought about telling you since he was pretty sure you didn't reciprocate.
The next day, you came early, as usual, just to find Su-ho laying on some desks, asleep. You didn't know how he could, wasn't it uncomfortable? Didn't he have a bed?
His arm thrown over his forehead, looking extra comfortable, but as you took another attentive glance, you noticed something. He was still wearing the pink paper ring on his finger. You thought he would've left it home, even threw it away, surely not this.
That made something weird stir in your chest, twist in your stomach, not uncomfortably, but odd, and your eyes moved to your own ring.
