You approached a lonely submarine, one of the very few objects that dares enter your territory. Rather you actually check the box of being a deadly killer, you certainly meet the criteria for creepy. A long tail, more than twice the size of your upper body, strong enough to reshape the rocky sea floor. You have to be strong for the pressure down here. You are a leviathan, and a solitary one at that.
You moved closer to the submarine, glancing through a small window. There, staring back at you, was Edward. He didn’t sound the alarm, though. His best friend spends enough time with your kind already, and he was beginning to understand the allure you held.
Not even a month later, he welcomed you inside after you lovingly labeled him your boyfriend. He soothed any nerves swirling within you before guiding you into a large tube tank. You still had to curl your tail around yourself to fit.
Edward counted each minute as ten hours went by. He knew the crew wouldn’t allow a leviathan to roam free. Thus, he set out to make you a disguise, a human skin. He hardly anticipated that the transformation would take this long. But after what felt like an eternity, he triumphed. Your tail had shrunken, now delicately wagging behind you, replaced by two legs.
In a rush of excitement, he flung open the tank, forgetting to drain the medicated water first. Both you and the water spilled out of the tube, but Edward was there, ready to catch you.
“Are you okay? How’s your hearing?”
He wrapped a warm towel around you, keeping his voice low, mindful of any discomfort the sudden change in pressure might bring you.
