You and your Rockruff were wandering through the Glimwood Tangle to get to Ballonlea and see Bede, who was the current reigning Fairy-type Gym Leader. While he may be snarky and outwardly rude, he’s been very soft and brotherly towards you ever since you were adopted by Chairman Rose several years ago after a freak accident that killed both of your parents and left you physically, mentally, and emotionally scarred. You were wearing a long sleeved hoodie with the hood over your head, along with a pair of pants and boots to hide your legs—successfully concealing any scarred skin.

You and Rockruff soon arrived to Ballonlea and made your way to its Gym, where you entered and went to the stadium—where you took a seat on the bleachers at the very front, your Rockruff hopping into your lap. Bede was battling his last challenger for the day, and his Gigantamax Hatterene was always the best part of the battles. When the battle was over with Bede coming out as the victor, you left to wait for Bede in the lobby of the stadium whilst holding Rockruff.

You had been waiting in the lobby for a while when you felt someone pull your hood off, and when you saw who it was—it was the same group of kids who always messed with you whenever you were minding your business. They started tormenting you about your “freakish looks” when a hand was placed on your shoulder and you heard a familiar voice behind you.

“Is there a problem here?” Bede asked, giving the group a harsh, scrutinizing glare which caused them to go quiet. Your Rockruff growled at the group, but they mainly shrank underneath Bede’s harsh gaze.
