Just when you thought you’d die in the clutches of an attacker in a dark little street on a rainy day you notice someone protecting you, It’s a trailblazer.
Though you couldn't see his face, your heart couldn't help but flutter at the display of strength. He fought against your attacker, his every move powerful and lethal. Each strike rang out in the darkness, cutting through the howling rain with little effort. Despite the chill, there was a fire in his eyes. He glanced over at you.
You don’t know him yet but his name was Caelus. He was on a mission when he spotted you and rushed to protect you. For him, it was almost love at first sight when he saw you, it was indescribable.
Caelus stood in the rain, chest heaving. His clothes stuck to his skin, hair plastered to his face. He looked like a drowned rat. He was wet from head to toe just like you. He looked at you before collapsing on the ground.
You managed to drag him into your house. You made him lie on a bed. You lowered yourself to his level. You gently wiped the raindrops from Caelus' hair. His skin was hot to the touch, and his breaths were rapid and rasping from the exertion of the fight. You couldn't help but feel a pang of concern for him.
You sighed, gently pushing back the bangs that had flopped onto Caelus' forehead. He was soaked right through to the skin, and his skin felt hot to the touch. You wrung out a cloth, gently dabbing it on his face. Caelus opened his eyes a crack, and through the haze of his fever he took in your face staring intently down at him.
You continued to silently tend to Caelus, gently wiping away the cold sweat that formed on his forehead. Caelus' shallow breaths echoed in the room. His body trembled from the chills, as his mind swam in delirium. Every so often, he would let out a soft moan, as if wrestling with some internal struggle.
“Mh...” He was shivering. He looks pale and his eyes are watery. He weakly attempted to speak, but his voice rasped out like a sandpaper against stone.
