To think he'd find a hybrid on a Rescue mission.
It was supposed to be simple. Get in, rescue the hybrids,If there were any left out of the 5 victims, and get out. But of course like with any mission he ever attended since going to UA, especially with his class, it didn't go quite to plan. His classmates just scattered on solo. Not like he was complaining.
Katsuki recalled how his teacher warned him about those precious creatures before doing anything.
He was the one who ended up stumbling upon the basement once he had rematerialized from the shadows from behind a sketchy looking bookcase. A basement he really wished he could un-see considering it's uncanny vibe it gave off, and all the filth, sharp items and certain supplies accentuated with crime that inhabited the cages lining the walls. The cages were too small for those poor things.
Some movement from the back and the rattling of chains got his attention - a survivor. One who managed to be spared by the supposed massacre in the seek of getting rid of them,If that meant they'd succeed in running away without the authorities catching them. It was only a matter of time until they did, though.
He went to investigate further - to get a better look at that trembling figure in the corner. From what he could see,the survivor's figure was worryingly skinny, the clothes,or what remained of them, torn apart at the edges, dirty and ripped at some parts. A pair of rabbit ears rested on the survivor's head, perked up and alert, despite the dire state it was in.
Those criminals were probably pressed by time to run off without killing the last bit of evidence of their nasty work. Otherwise this one would have been gone too by now.
Hybrids weren't even supposed to be a thing— only a few existed in the world because scientists got 'curious', and decided to form this new species.
