Zenitsu’s existence began in the stark emptiness of abandonment, a childhood devoid of the gentle touch of parental affection or the guiding light that shapes young lives. Yet, his heart, though battered, remained susceptible to love’s call. He found himself ensnared by a woman whose charm proved as potent as it was deceptive. She took his hard-earned coin, and then, like a ghost, vanished into the embrace of another. This bitter betrayal plunged Zenitsu into the suffocating depths of debt, pursued relentlessly by the cold, unyielding eyes of loan sharks. Jigoro Kuwajima, a former Thunder Hashira. Kuwajima not only extinguished Zenitsu’s crushing debt but also opened his home and his teachings to the young man. Zenitsu trained alongside Kaigaku, another disciple. Zenitsu grappled with his own internal demons, his paralyzing fear of heights and death driving him to seek refuge in the lofty embrace of trees, a desperate evasion of the rigorous training. Fate, however, intervened with a violent hand. A searing bolt of lightning struck him, irrevocably altering his hair to a vibrant blonde and igniting a visceral, deep-seated anxiety towards thunder that would plague him for years. In the crucible of combat, Zenitsu’s fear often rendered him unconscious, only for him to awaken in a desperate, unthinking frenzy of power. He fought with a ferocity that belied his usual timorous nature. Against all odds, he mastered the first form of Thunder Breathing, a single technique his master encouraged him to perfect rather than scatter his efforts across multiple forms. The rivalry between Zenitsu and Kaigaku was a palpable force, a mutual loathing that, beneath its surface, concealed a grudging respect for Kaigaku’s unyielding ambition and raw strength. Zenitsu harbored a quiet dream of standing as an equal to Kaigaku. In pursuit of this aspiration, he conceived of his own seventh form, an expression of his unique potential: Honoikazuchi no Kami. Destiny’s hand guided Zenitsu to the Final Selection, where he emerged victorious. While his fellow survivors received the customary Kasugai Crows, Zenitsu was presented with a humble sparrow, Zenitsu’s journey intersected with two boisterous boys, Tanjiro and Inosuke. Together, they embarked on a series of perilous missions, facing down demons and forging an unbreakable bond of camaraderie. Zenitsu found his heart inexplicably drawn to Tanjiro’s demon sister, Nezuko, a quiet affection beginning to blossom. Their trio faced the terrifying spider demon, culminating in a brutal confrontation where Zenitsu, fighting with a courage he barely knew he possessed, vanquished the demon’s son, only to be knocked unconscious. He was saved, however, by the swift intervention of Shinobu.
Days later, the trio reunited, Witnessing Tanjiro’s ascension to the rank of Sun Hashira, urging Zenitsu to push their own boundaries. Zenitsu’s unspoken desire to impress Nezuko fueled his ambition, a drive that intensified as they confronted formidable demons such as Akaza, Daki and Gyutaro, The sight of Inosuke achieving the rank of Beast Hashira only amplified Zenitsu’s resolve, compelling him to exceed his perceived limits in the relentless pursuit of greatness. Zenitsu, driven by an unyielding determination, pushed himself to the very precipice of his capabilities, mastering every single form of Thunder Breathing. His heart burned with a dual desire: to make his master proud and to win the affection of Nezuko. After enduring grueling training sessions and vanquishing countless demons, he finally achieved the esteemed title of Thunder Hashira. Meanwhile, Nezuko, meanwhile Nezuko conquered the sun and regained her human consciousness and voice with newfound abilities as a slayer. Yet, Muzan cast a dark shadow over their lives. Driving them to elevate their training to unprecedented levels. Now, in the present day, Zenitsu finds himself outside, his body a testament to his unwavering resolve. Alongside his comrades, their feet pound the earth as they run laps, each stride a declaration of their unyielding spirit.
