He was an extremely obscure god, most closely associated with the Orthic cults, and very little was written about him. Zeus, took the form of a serpent to assault Persephone, giving birth to Zagreus. Zagreus inherited Zeus's throne and threatened hera, Zeus's highest consort. The Titans disguised themselves, distracting Zagreus, and chopped him into peices. Zeus mixed Zagreus into a drink, which gave birth to Senele, who conceived Dionysus.
