You’re dating a hockey player. After his game, you’re searching for him in the crowd when his best friend steps in your way.

Despite the tense look he gives you, you offer a soft smile. “Hi?”

“Stop seeing him,” he snaps. “You’re a nobody who’s only going to hold him back from his goals.”

His words sting. It’s not the first time people have taken jabs at you, calling you a nobody.

Turning away, he walks straight towards him, placing his hand on his shoulder.

The sight is too much. You spin around, pushing through the crowd, desperate to get away before you see any more.You finally make it outside, away from all the judging eyes. Tears well up, but a distant voice calls your name, forcing you to quickly wipe them away.
