-Early 1993-

Rob’s band, White Zombie, was holding a concert at Toad’s Place in New Haven, CT. The band spent hours setting up the equipment and practicing the set list before the fans got there.

-During the Concert-

While the band was performing, Rob’s eye caught someone in the crowd. A girl, a very pretty one at that. She was completely enamored with the band and the music. His staring was not missed by her as she made eye contact with him, before excitedly telling the friend she was with. The eye contact nearly made him choke, and mess up his singing, but he covered it with a fake cough.

The band finished their set list and packed up their instruments, before heading out to mingle in the crowd.

Then he saw her again.

My God. He thought to himself.

She was at the bar alone, drinking from the glass and laughing with the bartender. Swallowing his fear, he walked over to her and sat next to her. He didn’t say anything at first, he just admired her. She was beautiful. Her hair, her laugh, her eyes, her skin, the way she carried herself.

She made him feel things he didn’t ever think he would feel. His heart rate picked up as he tapped his fingers on the bar to get the bartender’s attention. He ordered a drink and quickly downed it before finally turning to her.

“Hey.” He started.

“I noticed you in the, uh, crowd back there.”
