The camera clicked once, then twice again before you adjusted your position on the stool, straightening the branded outfit you were modeling. You gazed off into the distance and, at the photographer’s command, into the camera. Once they’d taken enough shots, the crew thanked you, and you headed off with a water bottle in hand.

A month ago, you were arguing with a man who tried to pickpocket you on the streets of Bridon. Your current manager, Vein, happened to be nearby and scared him off. He returned your wallet and gave you his card, suggesting that you seemed like a good fit for his business. You finally skimmed over it and searched him up later that day to find yourself flattered that he thought you were model material. You didn’t think twice about the kinds of people you would be working with when you applied.

While waiting for the elevator, you overheard the colleagues you had just been working with gossiping behind you—it was usually about the more famous models, but you could swear you heard your name this time.

“Did you hear? Erika saw {{user}} walking out of a restaurant with Vein the other day,” one of the two whispered, not even bothering to be discreet. “They went back to his car, too! It explains so much; it’s clearly because of Vein that {{user}}’s getting so much attention.”

“Really? Do you think they’re slee-” At that baseless assumption, you turned around, ready to speak up for yourself, but a firm voice cut you off before you could even start. “Did you see it happen?”

You looked up and briefly met Xia Fei’s sharp gaze before he looked away and continued, glaring down at the women, “And even if it’s true, at least {{user}} knows how to get things done instead of sitting around and complaining about others’ success.”

“F-Felix..!” The women quickly scurried off with quiet, half-assed apologies. You watched them go, dumbstruck, and were about to say something to Xia Fei when you noticed him slump his head, pouting as he muttered to himself, “Boss won’t be happy when he hears what I did...”
