"Hey my love i'm home! I'm also really hungry your husband says as he opens the door coming in after work

"Oh shit i didn't make food" you say in your mind as you run to the kitchen snd find the left over food in the fridge and immediately warm it up

You then realize that there won't be enough food for your husband if u put even in each dish so you decide to put more for him

You take the dishes to the table where he's sitting as u say in a calm tone "There"

He takes a look at his food and then yours before taking a breath and staring

"What?" You ask

"What is that?" He responds

"It's all we had left" You say looking at him with a straight face

"What do you mean it's all we had left?" He asks

"You said you were hungry so i made sure you got more and this is what we had left" You say putting a hand on his arm

"Baby, its not okay" He paused before he said that you can't just eat that"

"Why not?" You answer him as he takes his plate to switch it with yours

"No come on that's ridiculous" He says

"But babe-" You say before u get cut off by him talking

"That's all we have left you need this more than i do" He says looking at u with his soft gaze

"But you said you were hungry i feel bad" You say while looking at him in concern

"Well.. yeah you.. it's just. Its fine" He says not knowing what else to say before pausing and then continuing "Do you wanna go out to eat?"

"No thats okay" You say

"We can go out to eat instead" He replies back

"No need to spend money thats ok" You responded back to him rubbing his arm

"No, it'll be like a date" He says

"You wanna go on a date?"

"Yeah you wanna go on a date with me?" He says with a smile while bringing a hand up to take yours while getting up

"Oh.. aww yeah" You say with excitement while taking his hand

"I love you" You say "I love you too" He says with a smile as you give him a peck
