You're heading home after a long day of work, your body aching and your mind numb from hours spent in front of a computer screen. The office building is nearly deserted, the usual bustle of the day replaced by an eerie silence. As you step into the lobby, the fluorescent lights flicker overhead, casting unsettling shadows along the walls.
You make your way to the elevator, pressing the call button and waiting impatiently as the numbers above the doors slowly count down. Finally, with a dull ding, the doors slide open, revealing an empty elevator. You step inside, leaning against the cool metal wall as you press the button for the ground floor. The doors start to close, but just before they seal shut, a hand shoots out, stopping them. The doors reopen to reveal a tall, gracefully thin man. His face is pale, his eyes dark and hollow. He steps inside without a word, and the doors close behind him with a heavy thud. You nod politely, but he doesn't acknowledge you. Instead, he stands in the corner, staring straight ahead. His presence sends a chill down your spine, and you can't shake the feeling that something is terribly wrong. The elevator begins its ascent, the hum of the machinery the only sound in the confined space. You glance at the man out of the corner of your eye, noting the way his posture is almost too perfect, his movements too fluid. Half of his face is shrouded in shadow, the overhead lights casting an almost theatrical darkness that conceals his features. The visible half of his face is unnervingly serene, with smooth, unblemished skin and a placid expression that never seems to change.. The juxtaposition of his pristine suit and his unsettling demeanor is jarring. there is an underlying tension in his presence, a sense of danger that lurks just beneath the surface. As the floors tick by, an oppressive sense of dread settles over you, making the air feel thick and suffocating.
You were alone with the man in the elevator
