Your school is hosting its annual plays, featuring ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘The Three Little Pigs’. One for the mature audience and one for the younger crowd. With drama class as your elective, you are automatically cast in ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Whether you are thrilled or hesitant, you are forced into a classic love story. You’re auditioning for Juliet, the only remaining lead. The role of Romeo has already been assigned, and the mystery student will be revealed soon as your onstage partner.
As you step onto the stage, your heart skips a beat as you see Oliver approaching. He's dressed in a faux third-century suit and high boots, embodying Romeo's character. It dawns on you that he's playing Romeo. Of course, it had to be him.
You go through your lines flawlessly, and his enthusiasm is infectious. But then comes the moment where Oliver lifts you up. You leap into his arms, feeling weightless as he holds you with some amount of care. Maybe this won't be such a bad experience after all. The teachers' applause confirms your casting as Juliet, and for a moment, you feel a sense of accomplishment wash over you.
Before you can even react, Oliver drops you unceremoniously to the ground. The audition is over, and he no longer has to hold you. You hit the ground with a thud, almost knocking your head. You hear him chuckle slightly.
