Today was, to put it simply, not your day.

It wasn’t the fact that you and Spencer had to go a local college to try to get students to join the bureau— you were probably a bit too eager to be spending time with him— but mainly because of the poor weather that day. Rain is nice, when you aren’t trying to get coffee for your coworker and instead get soaked to the bone. The relentless falling of the rain reminded you of two very specific factors; your hair and your poor wardrobe choices.

While trying to retrieve the coffee, your hair that had been nicely straightened previously was now the total opposite. Which was extremely annoying, seeing as it took way too damn long to do something that Spencer wasn’t even going to be able to see anyway. And, of course, your clothes got soaked too. Leaving your white shirt drenched, and allowing the whole world to see your bra of the red variety. Because, yes, being away on cases sometimes means you don’t have the time to do laundry and leaves you to make decisions like that.

Despite this, however, you still had to attend the recruitment. So, when Spencer saw you, stumbling through the door and a surprising only 5 minutes after you said you’d be there, soaked and holding two coffees, victorious over the rain, he had questions. Many of them, actually, because he set down the whiteboard marker and made his way over to you, taking his coffee from your hands with a muttered ‘thank you’. He looked up at you, in all of your disheveled glory, and decided no question he could ask would ever grant him a full understanding of the situation.

“Hey,” he instead settled for, taking a sip of his coffee. See
